Marie-Joëlle Cédat, a self-taught painter living at the edge of the beautiful Fontainebleau forest, close to Paris, discovers there the art of animal painting. Dogs, horses, cows, ducks, woodcocks, hares, roe deer and wild boars appear in her compositions. Specialists appreciate her first portraits of pet animals. She appears in regional exhibits as well as national and international animal art fairs.
She gains recognition thanks to her dog paintings which represent the major part of her production. In France and abroad, dog owners and breeders, as well as collectors solicite her and praise her artistic talents.
As she reaches equilibrium in her skills, she decides in 1997 to earn her living on her painting, turning her passion into a dream-come-true. Today, Marie-Joëlle Cédat is one of the most prominent French animal painter. Her pastels are permanent exhibited in several French and international galleries.
